November 05, 2020
Innovator of First Indigenous Mini Tractor, Mr. G T Patel and Mr. M T Patel are belonging from the family of small farmer of Village Sanali, Dist. Amreli (Gujarat), they both studied till Matriculate. They had seen the struggle of their father and all the farmers who were financially challenged. Therefore, Mr. G T Patel and Mr. M T Patel, both had a vision to do something fruitful for small and marginal farmers which can reduce the hard-work, reduce dependency on farm labors and bullocks, reduce time of farming, reduce operating cost, subtract idle cost of bullocks, increase productivity, increase income and thus improve standard of living within affordable and reasonable price.
In
1994, The Indian Farm Mechanization was being done by Agriculture Tractors from
25 HP and above and the Power Tillers (2 Wheeled/Walking Tractor) from 8.0 HP
to 15 HP. The Only 4 Wheeled tractor which was available in Indian Market
Smaller than 25 HP was 18.5 HP Tractor which were exported from Japan and China
(Hence it was not Indian Technology). The other Farm Mechanization Machines
were available in the market were Power Tillers manufactured by few companies
with Japanese Technology. The other Power Tillers used to be imported from
China and the total HP range available was from 8 HP to 15 HP. But They were
not Tractors and lack of the Features & Facilities of Full-fledged Tractor
of 25 HP and above.
Farmers were facing below mentioned issues with Imported Tractors:
· Unavailability of spares and long waiting period if ordered
· Difficulty in Maintenance
· Higher cost
· Higher fuel consumption
